If you are a contract packer with an operational site in the UK, please read on...
The BCMPA is the voice of the contract packing and contract manufacturing industry. The association has played a major role in promoting the concept of outsourcing and has become the first port of call for thousands of brand owners and retailers looking for professional outsourcing partners.
This high profile has been achieved by the BCMPA’s success in getting regular coverage for the industry in the trade press – not only in all the major packaging magazines but also in vertical publications covering the various industry sectors in which our members are involved.
In February 2008, the BCMPA was responsible for the launch of the CONTRACT PACK exhibition in conjunction with easyFairs. The show is now established as an annual event.
The association initiated the new Contract Packing magazine, a quarterly title published by Progressive Media. It’s the first magazine of its type to focus specifically on our industry.
So what else does the BCMPA do for its members? Here are some examples:
- The BCMPA website can attract 2,500 page views per week, so members are
promoting themselves just by virtue of their listing on the site.
- Around 300 sales leads are disseminated to members each year.
- The association organises two BCMPA Member Events a year inviting key guest speakers such as: the contract packing managers of Unilever and Tetley; compliance manager for British Retail Consortium Global Standards; director of REACH Ready explaining the REACH Regulations; a legal expert on Employment Law; the chief executives of The Packaging Federation and the Packaging & Films Association - and many more.
- Members are entitled to free entry in the BCMPA Contract Packers Directory (printed and online versions)
- Participation in the CONTRACT PACK exhibition is exclusively for BCMPA members
How do I qualify for membership?
Current BCMPA members range from multi-national firms to SMEs turning over less than £1m. What we look for are contract packing & manufacturing companies who are professional at what they do and it is therefore our policy to conduct a satisfactory audit visit prior to membership being accepted. Our aim is to ensure that the services of our members meet the high standards expected by the clients who contact us.
If you would like to know more, please telephone Rodney Steel – BCMPA Chief Executive on 01494 582 013. Or send us a completed
application form and we will be pleased to get in contact with you.
