If you are a contract packer with an operational site in the UK, please read on...

The BCMPA is the voice of the contract packing and contract manufacturing industry. The association has played a major role in promoting the concept of outsourcing and has become the first port of call for thousands of brand owners, manufacturers and retailers looking for professional outsourcing partners.

This high profile has been achieved by a combination of trade press coverage, exhibitions, the BCMPA website and generally networking with all elements of the packaging industry.

  • The BCMPA website attracts around 12,000 page views a month, of which over 1000 are unique visitors. All members have their own Member Profile page on the site and are therefore promoting themselves just by virtue of their listing.
  • Through our excellent editorial contacts with the trade press, the Association actively encourages members to promote themselves not only in all the major packaging magazines but also in vertical publications covering the various industry sectors in which they are involved.
  • The BCMPA initiated ContractPacking magazine, a quarterly title published by Global Trade Media. It is the first magazine to focus specifically on our section of the industry and has a printed circulation in the UK & Ireland of over 6,500.
  • The BCMPA, in conjunction with easyFairs, was responsible for the launch of the CONTRACT PACK exhibition which takes place every February at the NEC Birmingham. The show forms part of the easyFairs PACKAGING INNOVATIONS Event, which is also staged in London every October.
  • Profile pages summarise the services a member offers, provide full contact details and include a link to their own website. As a result potential clients can swiftly establish a shortlist of appropriate companies to contact. In addition, the BCMPA disseminates over 300 sales leads to members each year.
  • The association organises BCMPA Member-Only Events inviting key guest speakers from companies such as Tesco, Unilever, Tetley and Boots; accreditation bodies such as BRC, Soil Association and REACH; and trade associations such as The Packaging Federation, PPMA, INCPEN and the Packaging & Films Association - and many more.

How do I qualify for membership?

First of all, you must have an operational contract packing/contract manufacturing site in the UK. Current BCMPA members range from multi-national firms to SMEs turning over less than £1m. What we look for are companies who are professional at what they do and it is our policy to conduct a satisfactory audit visit prior to membership being accepted. Our aim is to ensure that the services of our members meet the high standards expected by the clients who contact us.

If you would like to know more, please telephone Rodney Steel – BCMPA Chief Executive on 01494 582 013. Or send us a completed application form and we will be pleased to get in contact with you.
